TitleCigo Co., Ltd. Launches Two High-Efficiency Nanofiber Automotive Cabin Air Filters2026-07-30 08:47
Name Level 10

Cigo Co., Ltd., an advanced materials company led by CEO Joonghoon Shin, announced on the 22nd the official launch of two next-generation high-efficiency nanofiber automotive cabin air filters (E10 and E12 grades) designed to address the performance degradation commonly associated with conventional cabin air filters.

The newly launched products have achieved E10 and E12 classifications in accordance with the European high-efficiency air filter standard EN 1822-1. The E10 filter captures 99.6% of airborne particles measuring 0.3 μm (micrometers), while the E12 filter achieves a 99.83% capture efficiency.

According to Cigo, compared with conventional filters rated at 99% filtration efficiency, the new products allow significantly fewer particles to penetrate. The E10 filter reduces particle penetration by approximately 2.5 times, while the E12 filter reduces penetration by approximately 5.8 times, providing substantially higher real-world filtration performance.

According to the company, the filters have successfully completed Fractional Filtration Efficiency testing by particle size in accordance with the DIN 71460-1 standard for automotive cabin air filters. To verify long-term durability and reliability, the filters were retested under the same standard after 10,000 km of vehicle operation and six months of use.

The test results demonstrated that, even at the end of their service life, the filters maintained fine particle filtration efficiency and airflow resistance comparable to their initial performance, confirming their long-term durability.

A Cigo spokesperson explained, "Conventional electrostatic (melt-blown) cabin air filters gradually lose filtration performance when exposed to moisture, exhaust gases, and oily contaminants. Our new filters utilize an electrospun physical nanofiber pore structure that does not rely on electrostatic charge, enabling consistent filtration performance throughout the entire replacement cycle regardless of environmental conditions."

CEO Joonghoon Shin commented, "Having successfully validated the long-term durability of our products in accordance with the DIN 71460-1 standard, we believe these filters will be highly competitive not only in the automotive aftermarket but also as original equipment for vehicle manufacturers (OEMs)."

The E10 and E12 filters are available in specifications compatible with a wide range of domestic and international vehicle models. Distribution will be rolled out progressively through both online and offline retail channels, as well as authorized automotive service and maintenance networks.
