Cigo Co., Ltd., an advanced nanomaterials company specializing in environmentally friendly filtration solutions for the automotive and HVAC industries, announced on the 21st that it has been selected for the 2026 Technology Commercialization Package Program and has officially signed the program agreement. According to the company, the selection recognizes Cigo's achievements in commercializing its E10 and E12 automotive cabin air filters, whose long-term durability has been validated under the DIN 71460-1 standard. The company believes the selection reflects the technological excellence of its non-electrostatic nanofiber physical filtration technology. The project's primary objective is the commercialization of nanofiber-based products. As the global filtration market increasingly demands environmentally friendly materials that provide both ultrafine particle filtration and human safety, Cigo is strengthening its competitiveness with polyethersulfone (PES)-based nanofiber media that is completely PFAS-free, positioning the company to meet tightening environmental regulations in the United States and the European Union. According to Cigo, conventional melt-blown (MB) electrostatic filters have an inherent limitation: exposure to moisture or oil aerosols can rapidly dissipate their electrostatic charge, significantly reducing filtration performance. In contrast, Cigo's non-electrostatic nanofiber filters employ a purely physical filtration mechanism using nanopores with an average diameter of less than 100 nanometers (nm). This enables the filters to maintain their initial filtration efficiency throughout the replacement cycle, even in high-humidity environments such as the rainy season. Building on its existing filtration media business and the successful launch of its automotive aftermarket products, Cigo is expanding into a broader range of advanced filtration applications. The company plans to develop prototypes and obtain internationally recognized certification for products including: Semiconductor and pharmaceutical cleanroom filters Industrial Class 1 particulate respirator filter media Natural ventilation window filtration systems Shower and water filtration products with antimicrobial performance
